The Health Campus is a priority for the Liverpool Knowledge Economy Plan for the city. The Health Campus opportunity is enhanced by its location; close to the Universities, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Liverpool Science Park, the MerseyBIO incubator and the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
A new 640 bedded Royal Liverpool University Hospital is already under procurement and will share the Health Campus site and new life science research laboratories are planned for the University of Liverpool and the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. In addition The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre will be expanding its services and building a new cancer centre on the Health Campus. Developing a new Clatterbridge Cancer Cancer on the campus will bring huge benefits for patients and will allow access to a broader portfolio of clinical trials and leading edge treatments as soon as they are developed. Planning permission has been granted for further health related developments on the site, taking the form of new city blocks surrounded by landscaped green spaces.
The Health Campus combines the ideal infrastructure with leading edge science services. It will provide the latest laboratory & office facilities, room to expand, network opportunities and access to an NHS partner with huge experience and an ongoing commitment to Research & Development.
